Spot UV coating is a high-gloss, clear finish applied only to specific areas of a printed surface to create contrast, texture, and a visually appealing shine. Unlike full UV coating that covers the entire surface, spot UV is used selectively—on logos, patterns, images, or text—to highlight key design elements and give them a luxurious, high-end appearance.
The process starts with applying a clear UV-sensitive varnish to selected areas of the design. These areas are then exposed to ultraviolet light, which instantly cures and hardens the coating. The result is a glossy, raised surface that reflects light differently from the uncoated parts, creating an elegant contrast.
